Fall  2022 Events

We need your help!
Helping Hand Icon

We are planning some great events for GT students and families this fall!

Our first Parent Education Meeting will be held on Sept. 20 at 6:30pm and we will host our Middle School Escape Room event on Sept. 30.  Stay tuned for more details on these events!

We are also planning to bring back the Passport to the World cultural expo.  This event was last held in pre-COVID days and it was a ton of fun! In order to make the event a success, we are looking for families interested in representing a particular country or culture with a small display of cultural information and representative food, games, art, etc.  If you are interested in sharing your cultural heritage with other Adams 12 families, please email info@a12gifted.org.

October 16-18, 2022

Leadership Meeting
Notebook and pen

The Adams 12 GT Parents Group holds monthly leadership meetings to update members on GT resources and plan events for Adams 12 GT families.  This is a great way to connect with other GT parents and support our community.  Our fall 2022 meetings will be held in the evening on 9/12, 10/3, 11/3, and 12/5.

If you would like to know more about the group, are interested in getting more involved, or simply looking for connection with other GT parents, please join us at our next meeting on Mon., Sept. 12 at 6:30pm, location TBD.

Tuesdays at 5pm

Did you know that the Colorado Association of Gifted and Talented (CAGT) hosts weekly speakers on a wide variety of GT-related topics?  You can watch the Conversations with CAGT live on their Facebook page on Tuesdays at 5pm.  You can also see their archive of recorded presentations on their website.  There are some fabulous talks on there from many of the top GT experts in the country!

While you are on their site, check out all of the other resources they have available, and please consider becoming a CAGT member.  Your dues help support CAGT's work in advocacy and education, and if you select Adams 12 as your affiliate, a portion of your dues come back to the GT Parents Group to help support our student events and parent speakers.

New to GT?
Do you have a newly-identified GT student?

We know parents who are new to the world of GT often have many questions about what GT identification will mean for their child.  If you are unsure where to start, check out these short videos for parents of newly-identified GT students and look over the other resources available on our page.  If you have other questions, we are here to help!  Just send us an email at info@a12gifted.org.  Welcome!

Stay Connected
We need you!

Did you know that all of our parent education meetings, Super Saturday's, MS activities, and field trips are planned and coordinated by parents like you? In order to continue providing these programs for you and your children, we need your help! Please become involved in your child's education by volunteering to help with an Adams 12 GT Parents Group event or by attending one of our monthly Leadership meetings to learn about GT resources and updates and plan events for Adams 12 GT families.  This is a great way to become more involved, to connect with other GT parents, and to support our community.  Please contact us with your questions at info@a12gifted.org

Build Community
Support GT programs in your school!

The school district and the A12GTPG will continue to build the "school liaison" program to strengthen communication to families and to build our GT community.  Each liaison has the opportunity to join meetings during the school year where district staff, the A12GTPG and other Liaisons gather to discuss how to best bring resources to our schools, GT students and their families. Help us move forward GT programming in your school!

Gracias!
