In School Grants Program
Announcement

The GT Parents Group is now accepting applications for our In-School Grants Program!

Knowing that resources for school GT programs and school parent groups tend to be limited, the Adams 12 GT Parents Group is offering small grants (approximately $50-$500) for programs and materials to be used for the benefit of GT students in schools throughout the district. Parents or teachers may apply with the approval of the school GT Advocate/Coordinator and the school principal.  The deadline to submit applications is Nov. 15, 2024.  See more details and the application HERE.  If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to info@a12gifted.org.

Helping Hand Icon

One of the key goals of the Adams 12 GT Parents Group is to cultivate a strong and supportive community among the Adams 12 GT parent community.  To help parents find support and a feeling of belonging, we host informal meet-ups for parents of gifted and talented students in our district.

For our next social hour, we are trying something new.  Our next social hour will be held in-person on Friday, November 15, 6:30-8:15pm, during our MS Escape Room event.  However, you do not need to have a MS student attending the student event in order to attend the social hour.  We'll be discussing the high school focus programs (SOAR, Legacy 2000, P-TECH/STEM, HS of Business, IB) as well as any other topics that come up.  See the SignUp for details and to let us know you are coming!

Future Programming
Idea

Would you like to see more student events?  Are you interested in becoming more involved with the GT Parents Group?

Everything we do is organized and run by parent volunteers just like you.  This means we are uniquely focused on the perspectives and needs of the GT parent community, but it also means that our programming is limited by the time and resources of our parent volunteers.

We are currently planning spring events and are actively seeking  parents who are ready to jump in and contribute their passion and talents toward future programming for our GT families.  Does this sound like you?  Send us an email at info@a12gifted.org and we'll set up a conversation to discuss how you can get involved.

New to GT?
Do you have a newly-identified GT student?

We know parents who are new to the world of GT often have many questions about what GT identification will mean for their child.  If you are unsure where to start, check out these short videos for parents of newly-identified GT students and look over the other resources available on our page.  If you have other questions, we are here to help!  Just send us an email at info@a12gifted.org.  Welcome!

Stay Connected
Get involved!

Did you know that all of our parent education meetings, Super Saturday's, MS activities, and field trips are planned and coordinated by parents like you? In order to continue providing these programs for you and your children, we need your help! Please become involved in your child's education by volunteering to help with an Adams 12 GT Parents Group event or by attending one of our monthly Leadership meetings to learn about GT resources and updates and plan events for Adams 12 GT families.  You can see all the current events in our latest newsletter.  Please contact us with your questions at info@a12gifted.org

Build Community
Support GT programs in your school!

The school district and the A12GTPG will continue to build the "school liaison" program to strengthen communication to families and to build our GT community.  Each liaison has the opportunity to join meetings during the school year where district staff, the A12GTPG and other Liaisons gather to discuss how to best bring resources to our schools, GT students and their families. Help us move forward GT programming in your school!

Gracias!
