Become involved in your student's education!
January 16, 2025
One of the key goals of the Adams 12 GT Parents Group is to cultivate a strong and supportive community among the Adams 12 GT parent community. To help parents find support and a feeling of belonging, we host informal meet-ups for parents of gifted and talented students in our district.
Our next social hour will be in-person, day-time coffee/lunch on Thursday, January 16, 10:30am - 12:30pm at Panera. At this meeting, we'll start off with a discussion of summer camps for kids. It may seem early but those camps fill up fast and it can be very overwhelming! Come and bring your questions! We are always open to other topics as well. Social hours are a wonderful opportunity to share experiences or concerns in a casual conversation with other GT parents. See the Sign Up for more details and to RSVP.

GT College Info Night
Save the date!
The Adams 12 high school GT Advocates will be hosting another College Planning Night on Tuesday, February 4, 2025 from 6:30-8:30pm at Legacy High School. This is an opportunity for parents of high school students to learn more about selecting and applying to a college or university, but with information geared specifically towards GT students.
The high school GT Advocates hosted this program for the first time last year and it was hugely successful. Put it on your calendars now! See our College Info resource page for more information and for resources from last year's event.
January 27, 2025
Our next leadership/planning meeting will take place on Monday, January 27 at 6:30-8:00 pm in the Eisenhower Meeting Room at the Broomfield Library.
This will be a planning meeting to discuss our upcoming Parent Forum event and a spring elementary/family event. Anyone who would like to help with planning events or those we are interested in getting more involved with the Parents Group are welcome to attend!

CAGT Legislative Day
Colorado Association of Gifted and Talented (CAGT) is now accepting applications for 2025 Legislative Day! This unique event is always amazing and impactful! CAGT's Legislative Committee creates a one of a kind experience for 9th-12th grade students who are passionate about issues facing their community, county, and our state. Usually close to 70 students are placed to shadow a legislator and experience the legislative process firsthand. This event is NOT a field trip, but an individual experience for that certain student who is intrigued by the political system and is craving a more up-close opportunity to experience a day in the life of a legislator.
All students who are applying must register and submit a student shadow application by Jan. 20, 2025. For more information and to register click HERE.

Build Community
Support GT programs in your school!
The school district and the A12GTPG will continue to build the "school liaison" program to strengthen communication to families and to build our GT community. Each liaison has the opportunity to join meetings during the school year where district staff, the A12GTPG and other Liaisons gather to discuss how to best bring resources to our schools, GT students and their families. Help us move forward GT programming in your school!
