Hello and welcome! Thank you for taking the time to visit the Adams 12 GT Parents Group website. This website was built and is maintained by parents of GT students in the Adams 12 school district to share information relevant to parents, students, administrators and others who are interested in GT resources in the Adams 12 school district. 2023-24 Leadership Team
Calling all GT Parents!

Would you like to be more involved?
As we head into the last quarter of this academic year, the GT Parents Group is already thinking about the fall. All of our student and parent events would not be possible without the efforts of our volunteer executive board (President, President-Elect, Secretary, Treasurer, Past-President) and leadership team (Committee Co-chairs, Liaisons). If you have enjoyed some of our programming this year, please consider joining our team! We have multiple roles available with varying levels of commitment including Secretary, Treasurer, Committee Co-chairs and Liaisons. You can see a description of the open position HERE.
If you would like to learn more, please contact us at info@a12gifted.org or speak to a current board member at any of our remaining events (Parent Education Meeting, Social Hour, etc). Our final Spring 2023 leadership meetings is scheduled for 5/8.

Social Hour

One of the key goals of the Adams 12 GT Parents Group is to cultivate a strong and supportive community among the Adams 12 GT parent community. To help parents find support and a feeling of belonging, we host informal meet-ups for parents of gifted and talented students in our district. The social hours will alternate between morning and evening times to accommodate different parent schedules.
Our next social hour is in the evening of Wednesday, April 12 at 6:30pm. See the SignUp for details and to let us know you are coming! Our remaining social hour is scheduled for May 18 at 6:30pm. All are welcome!
If you are in need of support but these times or location do not work for you, please email info@a12gifted.org and we can set up a virtual or in-person meetup that works for you.

Parent Education Series

Please join us on Monday, April 3 at 6pm for our final Parent Education Meeting of the 2022-2023 year. Kelly Teran will present "Gifted & Talented Assessments: What Do the Scores Mean?"
We will take a look at the commonly used assessments, what the batteries measure, and what this means in terms of thinking and learning for your gifted child.
This Parent Education Meeting will take place at the Educational Support Center and free childcare and translation services will be available upon request. Please see the REGISTRATION FORM for further details and to let us know you are coming.
You can always find information and resources from past meetings on the Parent Education Series page.

SAVE THE DATE!!
Middle School Madness will be held on Friday, April 14, 6:15pm-8:30pm, at Century Middle School.
In this game inspired by Minute-to-Win-It and Great Race, teams of middle school students will race the clock to complete as many challenges as possible before time runs out! It's a fast-paced evening loaded with fun!
Registration will open at the end of March so be on the lookout!
This event is only possible with assistance from adult and high school student volunteers to oversee each challenge station. If you are interested in helping out, please see our Volunteer SignUp.
New to GT?
Do you have a newly-identified GT student?

If you are unsure where to start, check out these short videos for parents of newly-identified GT students and look over the other resources available on our page. If you have other questions, we are here to help! Just send us an email at info@a12gifted.org. Welcome!

In order to continue providing these programs for you and your children, we need your help! Please become involved in your child's education by volunteering to help with an Adams 12 GT Parents Group event or by attending one of our monthly Leadership meetings to learn about GT resources and updates and plan events for Adams 12 GT families. Build Community
Support GT programs in your school!
The school district and the A12GTPG will continue to build the "school liaison" program to strengthen communication to families and to build our GT community. Each liaison has the opportunity to join meetings during the school year where district staff, the A12GTPG and other Liaisons gather to discuss how to best bring resources to our schools, GT students and their families. Help us move forward GT programming in your school!
