Hello and welcome!
Thank you for visiting the Adams 12 GT Parents Group website. Our group was founded and is run by volunteer parents of gifted and talented students in the Adams 12 school district. Our mission is to provide resources, education, enrichment, and advocacy for Adams 12 GT families.
We have a wealth of resources on this page so please take a look around and explore the many ways to get involved with your student's education! We recently moved our website and you may find some resource pages are not fully migrated over yet. You can still access our full collection of resources at our original site.
If you already have a Membership Toolkit account with another organization,
you can use the same log-in here.
New to GT?
We know parents who are new to the world of GT often have many questions about what GT identification will mean for their child. If you are unsure where to start, check out these short videos.
What should I do now?
What does it mean to be gifted and talented?
If you are ready for more, head over to our parent resource page for more videos, reading, and websites that may be helpful.

GT Parent Forum: Acceleration
Thank you to everyone who joined us for our GT Parent Forum on Acceleration on April 9, 2026. Dr. Lynn Saltzgaver, Director of AAGS, and Dr. Colleen Urlik, Principal at Hulstrom K-8, were kind enough to join us and share some information on different forms of acceleration and Adams 12 policies for whole-grade or subject acceleration. We've shared their slides for reference or for anyone who was not able to attend.
Dr. Colleen Urlick's SLIDES on different forms of acceleration
Dr. Lynn Saltzgaver's SLIDES on district acceleratoion policies
Thank you to our fellow parents who attended and shared their own experiences with acceleration. Our forums are a fantastic opportunity to learn from both the experts as well as other parents while also strengthening our gifted parent community. If you have a topic you would like to see in a future GT Parent Forum, please send us an email at info@a12gifted.org.
GT Parent Forum: ALPs
Thank you to everyone who joined us for our GT Parent Forum where we learned about Advanced Learning Plans (ALPs) from the Director of Adams 12 Advanced Academic and Gifted Services, Dr. Lynn Saltzgaver, and discussed practical parent approaches to the ALP. We had a great turnout and had some wonderful discussions. We've shared some resources from the meeting below. For those interested in applying for one of our grants to support in-school programming, please see the information in the Grant Program section on this page.
