Leadership Meeting
Notebook and pen

The Adams 12 GT Parents Group holds monthly leadership meetings to update members on GT resources and plan events for Adams 12 GT families.  This is a great way to connect with other GT parents and support our community.  Our next leadership meeting will be held on Monday, February 6 at 5pm.  This meeting will be held online.  See the sign up for the link.

Our main topic of conversation will be remaining plans for Super Saturday and discussion of plans for next year.  If you would like to be more involved in the Parent Group next year, this is a great meeting to attend! Newcomers as well as familiar faces are welcome! See more details and let us know you are coming HERE.

Our remaining Spring 2023 leadership meetings are scheduled for 3/7 and 5/8.

Legislative Day 2023 at the Capitol: Celebrating Excellence will be held on Thursday, February 23, 2023.

The day consists of the student's involvement, whether it be shadowing a legislator or being part of a group, and the GT Advocacy Session for adults and students to learn particulars of current legislative issues.

This program is designed for 9th through 12th graders ONLY who are passionate about our state's legislative processes, current state or national issues, and who are ready to have an individualized experience with other students and adults.  No two experiences are the same!

Save the date! Our 10th annual Super Saturday event for elementary GT and talent pool students is coming on February 25!

The Super Saturday event is a series of hands on mini-classes which expose the students to topics in a more detailed, hands-on way than they might get at school. Past Super Saturdays have included sessions on weaving, cryptography, static electricity, theatre, yoga, mock trials, government, and so much more!

Look for more information on registering for this popular event in early February!  This event is not possible without many adult and high school volunteers.  If you are interested in helping us out, please sign up here:

Parent Education Series
Event Icons - Parent Meetings

Thank you to everyone who joined us in January for the 3rd Parent Education meeting with Susanne Keeley.  We had a wonderful turnout to hear Susanne's presentation on "Encourage, Enhance and Expand Executive Functions in your Child."  Susanne described potential problems with Executive Functions in gifted students, and specific behaviors and techniques that parents can use to foster Executive Functions skills in their children.

If you registered for this presentation, you should receive an email with a link to the recording.  Out of respect for the presenter's wishes, we will not be posting the recording publicly but you may email to request access.

New to GT?
Do you have a newly-identified GT student?

We know parents who are new to the world of GT often have many questions about what GT identification will mean for their child.  If you are unsure where to start, check out these short videos for parents of newly-identified GT students and look over the other resources available on our page.  If you have other questions, we are here to help!  Just send us an email at  Welcome!

Build Community
Support GT programs in your school!

The school district and the A12GTPG will continue to build the "school liaison" program to strengthen communication to families and to build our GT community.  Each liaison has the opportunity to join meetings during the school year where district staff, the A12GTPG and other Liaisons gather to discuss how to best bring resources to our schools, GT students and their families. Help us move forward GT programming in your school!
