Information on College Selection and Application

In 2024 and 2025, GT Advocates from Adams 12 high schools hosted college planning nights where they presented an overview of the college search and planning process along with breakout sessions on such topics as how to pay for college; how to complete the Common Application; how to write a strong college entrance essay; how to make college "feel smaller"; and how to navigate the athletic recruiting and the fine arts audition-process.  Below you can find slide decks from those presentations as well as some additional shared resources.  Please not that this information was put together in 2024-2025.  While most of the content is broadly relevant, some references (such as Naviance instead of Schoolinks) may be outdated.
